Piloting VR Training at Verizon Wireless Stores

Wednesday, February 20, 2019 1:00pm - 2:00pm EST
Host: Future Workplace Webinars
By: Pete Beck, Director: Global Learning Technology, Verizon and Fraser Bowie, Sr Manager Learning Technology, Verizon Wireless

Leveraging augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) is becoming a reality for enterprise training. While these two technologies are referred to as one, there is a difference between them. Virtual reality creates a totally immersive simulation, augmented reality augments the user experience across multiple sensory modalities like visual or auditory to create a new employee experience.

Join this webinar to learn how to use VR and AR in your organization! Join Lou Tedrick, VP, Global Learning & Development, and Pete Beck, Director: Global Learning Technology, for a webinar on how VR and AR is being used to train Verizon retail store personnel in situations where "live training" can be costly, inefficient, dangerous or difficult to replicate.

This webinar will explore the following objectives:

  • Understand what is virtual reality and augmented reality training
  • Understand when to use both to solve a training end
  • Explore new use cases of virtual reality beyond compliance training to include soft skills training
  • Discuss new skills needed in Corporate Learning as VR takes hold
  • Examine the role of Corporate Learning deptartments and VR and AR partners as a company expands its use case of AR and VR
