The New TSCA and Its Implications

Wednesday, April 19, 2017 10:00am - 11:00am EDT
Host: AIHA
By: Mark N. Duvall, Principal, Beveridge & Diamond

Game-changing amendments to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) became law in June 2016.  In the nine months since enactment, EPA has been hard at work implementing the new TSCA.  This presentation will identify the principal amendments; explain EPA's activities to date; discuss the strategic implications of these developments for companies who may have chemicals subject to review under TSCA; and compare the amended TSCA to the European Union's REACH regulation.

Learning objectives:

• Learn about the major changes to TSCA and how EPA is implementing those changes.
• Understand the challenges and opportunities to defend chemicals that might be reviewed by EPA.
• Gain perspective on how the amended TSCA differs from REACH.
