Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, The Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University

Dr. Gordon Morewood is professor and chair of the department of anesthesiology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University, in Philadelphia. He is originally from Canada and completed his medical degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He undertook a residency in anesthesiology at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He has spent the last 10 years of his career studying and lecturing on the economic and organizational aspects of modern healthcare. He completed an MBA at Drexel University in Philadelphia and previously served as the chief quality officer for the Temple University physician practice group.

Tony is a former Army officer and experienced corporate executive. Tony gained extensive healthcare experience working for Aramark, which provides managed services to the healthcare industry. He also consults regularly with world-class healthcare organizations on performance improvement and leadership. He has authored two books on leadership and performance improvement and has been quoted, published, or featured in more than 50 media outlets, including U.S. News & World Report, Chief Learning Officer magazine, Training magazine, HR Executive magazine, Fox News, and CBS Marketwatch. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. Tony is a faculty member and academic director of leadership development at Temple University. An entrepreneur since 2005, Tony has built and sold businesses and is currently CEO of the Leadership Analytics Group, which has developed the real-time feedback and goals app called DevelapMe. DevelapMe enables organizations to drive individual and organizational performance through real-time feedback by focusing feedback on critical organizational sales and profit levers.
