The workplace has dramatically transformed. According to a recent Pew Research Center study, 71% of workers now work from home all or most of the time. Of course, this percentage varies based on industry and education level. As the opportunity arises for people to return to a physical office, 54% say they want to continue to work from home (compared to 11% of workers who say they want to return to the office). With the emergence of virus variants, many organizations have delayed plans to bring people back to the physical office.

Managers who lead others successfully must master foundational leadership skills and combine them with their ability to lead a hybrid workforce (some employees primarily working from home and others returning to the office). Inclusivity, engagement, change management, and retention concerns are at the forefront of organizational effectiveness. How can virtual managers engage everyone on the team, motivate individuals in remote locations, build an inclusive culture, gain people’s loyalty, and respond skillfully to rapid changes?

What impact does the hybrid workplace have on training and development efforts in organizations? Can a hybrid learning experience engage and include everyone in the learning experience?

As a result of this session, you will be able to:

• Describe the challenges impacting managers.
• Recognize critical management practices that leaders must master to succeed in the hybrid workplace.
• Use creative methods to develop the talent of remote and hybrid employees.
• Build a stronger team of managers and supervisors.

Join Cynthia Clay, CEO of NetSpeed Learning, for an interactive exploration of these questions and issues, as well as current research about the hybrid workplace. She is the author of Great Webinars: Interactive Learning That Is Captivating, Informative, and Fun and the chief architect of NetSpeed’s Virtual Leader™ facilitated online learning program for managers of remote teams.
