ATD will release an updated DEI&B Education for Employees research report. This research will offer a refresh of the original report, which focused on organizational commitment, usage, content, delivery, and evaluation. New to the 2023 report will be a section that focuses on strategies and policies organizations are implementing for DEI&B Education for Employees. 

Key findings from the report include:

  • In organizations that offered DEI&B education, 94% of respondents said leaders were very or somewhat supportive of DEI&B educaiton. 
  • Less than half of organizations had a dedicated DEI&B function. 
  • 40% of organizations provided a dedicated DEI&B education budget. 
  • 95% of organizations provided education on organizational DEI&B policies and procedures.

Rocki Basel, Ph.D. joined the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in 2022 as the associate director of research. Before joining ATD, she was a researcher for other national membership organizations. Her research interests include workplace culture, employee engagement, mental health, and organizational communication. She has a Ph.D. in communication studies from Kent State University. 


Esther Jackson

Sr Business Program Manager, Rocket Central

Esther Jackson is a people potential accelerator who has tapped into the fast and furious drive to adaptability. She is an author, national speaker, college instructor, instructional designer, and coach. Esther has done work in training and development, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), human resources, leadership and project management. These are also areas for the work she does to support clients in various industries. Her presentation topics target the needs and pain points leaders and individual contributors are experiencing today. Her work has opened doors for her to receive invites to do conference presentations, workshops, courses, podcasts and interviews Her portfolio continues to evolve to meet the growing needs of her contacts and others looking for ways to maximize potential.
