ATD Research will be discussing the data and findings of their latest research study on performance management.

In this webinar, we will explore organizations’ performance management practices in these areas: setting job responsibilities and competencies, developing goals, evaluating performance, addressing performance outcomes, and incentivizing performance.  

Key findings from the study include:

â— 61% of organizations assess performance annually.
â— 41% were very effective at setting job responsibilities and goals.
â— 71% of respondents say it is extremely or very important to align individual goals with organizational goals.
â— 42% of organizations train all their managers on giving feedback.
â— Only 15% find performance improvement plans to be very effective.

Caroline Cope joined the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in 2021 as a senior researcher in the research department. Prior to joining ATD, she studied trends related to graduate education and training for the American Psychological Association as a research officer. She has a master’s degree in sociology from American University.


Christopher Adams

Principal Consultant, Performance Change Strategies LLC

Christopher Adams is a performance consultant and learning experience designer with over 25 years experience helping clients engage people, apply process, and implement technology to improve human and organizational performance. He also regularly writes and speaks on the topic of performance consulting to help learning and talent professionals focus on RESULTS.
